His specialist area of interest is retinal disease and surgery. He trained in Aberdeen, Cambridge, Glasgow and London. With over 90 publications in international peer review journals and chapters in renowned surgical texts (including the Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology which won the best medical text book in the British Medical Association 2005 awards). Tom H Williamson possesses an international reputation for surgery and research in ophthalmology. He performs all types of retinal surgery including new innovative techniques as well as small incision sutureless cataract surgery. National and International Invitations Tom H Williamson provides regular guest lectures and chairmanships for national institutions and meetings and has been invited to speak at international conferences in Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Prague and Bangalore.
